At first glance, you would never expect a building like Camel Paint to be full of restaurants and bustling with people. Though exteriorly unattractive, the interior design of Yakitoria Bar and BBQ is surprisingly well furnished. The open kitchen creates a sense of homeliness and the staff is casually dressed. The price range of the restaurant is quite decent, though some admittedly more value for price than others. Amongst the many choices, we decided to order some of everything.

Firstly, we went for the Wasabi Whelks ($48), which was a recommended dish of the restaurant. The whelks were easy to remove from their shells and submerged in soy sauce. The whelks certainly were very fresh but at first, I felt that there wasn't enough wasabi taste. However, the taste got stronger and stronger as we delved into the bottom of the bowl. We found out that the wasabi had actually accumulated at the bottom of the bowl. (7/10)

Secondly, from the category of grilled seafood, we ordered the Capelin ($30). I felt that this was pretty valued for price, considering it came with 4 pieces. the Capelins were grilled nicely and wasn't too burnt. (8.5/10)

We also ordered the 9 inch Bamboo Prawn ($68). In all honesty, I wasn't sure if it was actually 9 inches long, however, it was in fact very meaty, and not too overly cooked. (7.5/10)

We then had the Lamb Rack ($48), which I actually thought was perhaps the most valued for price item that we had. The lamb was though a little on the fatty side, but it had a very good seasoning and taste to it. The size of the lamb rack was also very decent and it was delicious to say the least. (9/10)

The next two Yakitori that came was the Cuttlefish Ink Sausage ($15) and the Spanish Pork Collar Steak ($58). I felt that the cuttlefish ink sausage was very unique in taste and generally it was equally cooked from head to toe (7/10). The Spanish Pork Collar Steak was a little bit of a disappointment to me because normally, I'm a big fan of Spanish Pork, yet this one was slightly overpriced for its portion and I felt it was a bit on the dry side (5/10).

Lastly, the French Baby Spring Chicken was a delightful end to the meal because it was juicy and tender. The portion was just right, and wasn't excessively filling, nor insufficient. The chicken was seasoned properly and cooked so that the meat wasn't raw, nor too dry. (9/10)
