I checked out this private kitchen for lunch and was impressed with the quality of the food. I tasted both the shrimp summer rolls and the deep fried imperial roll. I liked them both. I next had the beef pho and it was amazing. The complex intense flavor of the broth was lightened by the various herbs that were pre-added to my bowl. The beef slices were delicious tho they left me wanting more... The portion of the pho I thought was perfect. There is the option of getting a larger size if you're
Along with my meal I had the Vietnamese coffee which was just like the ones I had while traveling in Vietnam. It's a bit sweeter than I like my coffee, but every once in a while it is a dessert-like treat. Speaking of dessert... of course I had to try the daily changing homemade gelato on offer. That day it was Basil Mint. It was divine - so creamy and the herb flavors were apparent, but not overpowering.
My visit may have been during the first week or two after it opened. We were seated quickly, but the service wasn't perfect. I'm sure with a few more weeks under it's belt it will improve. The space is very small, but since moving to HK from NYC I've come to love the private kitchen concept found in this city so don't mind a tight squeeze for a tasty morsel.
Overall the quality of the food was great. The ingredients were all extremely fresh. I know pricing opinions are subjective and all over the map, but if you ask me HK100 for 2 courses and a beverage in central sounds like a pretty good deal. I'm definitely going back to try some of the other items on the menu.
