My student and I went to this same street for lunch again after we had finished our lesson as usual. This time, we chose this restaurant as we were looking for some exotic food.
The seats were small and really packed. We understood the seating due to the limited space available. The waiters and waitresses were wearing flip-flops, which was quite annoying while they were rushing to and fro in the restaurant. My student and I both ordered chicken curry with Gio Lua, Vietnamese salami as our shared side-dish.

The chicken curry was so bland that my student and I needed to add much chili oil to have a better taste of the curry. However, the chili oil did not work. The curry was too coconut-y. We could not taste anything but coconut with every sip of the curry. The curry was really single-flavoured with the flavour of coconut savagely dominating the curry. Although each dish of curry was cooked in a pot separately by the cooks for the best of taste, I could not believe that the cooks had taken great care of what they were cooking. There was a noticeable layer of fat on top of our curry. Worse still, the chicken was cooked for so long that the chicken was completely dry, yet the chicken was not flavourful, to say the least. The bone of the chicken was black and I deemed that the chicken was probably frozen store-bought chicken which was going to expire, or even had expired already. The texture was weird and forcing us to frown. Dry chicken flesh and weird chicken skin and bone.
The Gio Lua, Vietnamese salami was ok. However the Gio Lua was too hard to chew and the dish was not worth the cost. What I mean is really not worth trying it, even though it was with a special discount that day.

With our money spent unwisely, we were glad there was an exit for us to get out of there.
