I have never wrote any comment on Openrice and this is the first time I have an urge to create an account here after my terrible experience in this restaurant on last Friday (20 May 2011). My bf and I came to this place on Fri night after the movie, and we were being told to go upstair when we got inside. When we got upstair, there are 3 waitesses were there cleaning one table, they were all looking at us, but no intension to approach or provide any service. So we were just standing there for like 10 mins until the table was clean. Finally after we sat down and we ordered:
1) Barbarque Beef spare Ribs - such a small portion, only less than 10 pieces but cost $120. Normally it comes with some small dishes such as kimchi, potato, bean sprout, and the most important - RICE. However, they never intended to serve those small dishes even when the beef arrived, not until when we asked. How could they serve the bbq beef w/o giving us rice? I went to all different Korean restaurant and that is a MUST.
2) Potato clean noodle with mix vegetable - The noodle was not hot at all, so oily, and they were being placed in a very small plate. I could barely found the mice beef inside the noodle.
3) Seafood Pancake - What they so-called SEAFOOD is only the squid with some onions inside. Taste ok
During the dinner, we had asked them to refill the tea or ask for napkins, however, each time we would receive a very bad service, there is this chubby Korean lady (who speaks Cantonese) came to us and said "又點呀" when the first time we requested to get our small dishes, and she replied something like "it's on the way la, wait wait sin la", but none of them were preparing because they were all sitting/standing at the counter when we asked.
Then at around 11:15pm, we were being told that they have to close and forced us to settle our bill while we still had 1/3 of our food on the table. Their business hour mentioned that it is 11:00-04:00, but they said upstair closed at 11pm, so we had to leave. So we asked for a take away box and when the bill came, we realized there is an additional $5 for a take away box. OMG.....this is the first time ever in my life...charging $5 per box??? we were shocked, and that chubby lady said something like "everywhere is the same la, the other place charge the food more expensive and we are cheaper than them, blah blah blah..." seriously I have never experienced such terrible service in my life, how dare she still have gut to say it out loud and be so proud of herself for charging us cheaper than other Korean place? My bf and I were so pissed but we still paid for the extra because we didn't wanna waste our food.
At the same time, there is a couple next to us were having the same experience too. They still had alot of left over, and the same lady suggested them to take away the food, WITHOUT TELLING THEM THERE IS $5 PER BOX, and when they paid, they were shocked and argued with her, and she said exactly the same thing, and I heard the whole conversation and finally i said "I never heard other places needed to charge customer extra $$ for a take away box, stop bullshxtting and assuming this is RIGHT". Everyone (including that chubby waitess) were looking at me, but i really didn't care because I was extremely mad for such HORRIBLE service.
We would never ever go back to this restaurant and whoever wanted to have a bad experience like us, please go there and you would know what is meant by TERRIBLE SERVICE.
