One of the worst experiences I've ever had. We made a booking several weeks before the date to have the Thanksgiving set menu, and after 5+ phone calls to confirm they would have options for my husband who is Vegan, they continued to insist he would have to have what everyone else was having. Finally after we arrived at the restaurant and spoke to the manager they allowed him to order separate starters and mains. Although the starters were ok, the restaurant wait staff were slow to respond, misleading, and inattentive. We had to ask several times before they allowed us to order. Things were looking up when they brought out the un-carved turkey which looked great, so we took lots of photos. However they took the turkey away to carve it, but came back with a turkey platter that was clearly a different turkey because the skin was 5 shades lighter than the one we just took photos with. Kind of strange, but okay. After taking two bites of the turkey I realized I was eating undercooked, raw turkey. After notifying the wait staff that the turkey was raw, and clearly a different turkey than that which we took a photo with, the wait staff informed us that yes - the other turkey was "just for photos" and that she would get her manager. No apology! The manager came out and said “undercooked? Ok.” And whisked the platter and my plate away (again - no apology..!). I had to ask them to replace my plate so I could continue eating.
After several minutes they brought back out the turkey dish which they said they broiled and torched. Still no apology.
We followed up multiple times for gravy and stuffing (both of which were on the advertised thanksgiving set menu) and the wait staff kept saying “yes it’s coming”.
What was even stranger at this point was the manager came out and spoke with my husband (the only one not having the set menu as he is vegan) and said “can I talk to you for a minute?” And pulled him away from the rest of the table near the kitchen.
After several minutes my husband came back and said they informed him they ran out of gravy and stuffing. They didn’t want to the table to make a scene and so they of course spoke to the only vegan. Seriously?!
They negotiated to only charge us for 2 out of the 5 dinner sets ($588 HKD/ person).
Even still, clearly never going back to this restaurant.
There were multiple opportunities for them to fix their mistakes, and we were not a particularly difficult table. The fact that the restaurant didn’t have the items from the set menu even though we made a booking (and paid a deposit) 2+ weeks in advance is pretty crappy, but not apologising when I pointed out the turkey was RAW is completely inexcusable.
