I rarely visit Whompoa but my friend told me I must try this restaurant. He said the atmosphere and environment is perfect for catching up with friends and that I would enjoy their cuisine because it was very authentic. When I first walked in I was mesmerized by the strong fragrant of curryand spice in the air and the interior was spacious and comforting. The service was ncie even though we had to wait quite awhile for our food--almost 20 minute before our first dish was served. Luckily, we ordered a bottle of white wine ($298) to keep us going so we didn't really notice until after awhile of waiting.
My friend really likes seafood so he ordered the squid and told me try it (even though I'm not a huge seafood fan). It's super fresh and goes amazingly well with the sweet and sour spicy sauce If you don't like spicy, don't try the sauce even though i think that's the highlight of the dish.
This stir fried Tung Choi was bursting with flavor and the texture was cooked to perfection--not to crunchy and not too soft.
My all time new favorite Thai dish! First off, I must explain that I adore Taiwan basil and I can eat it by the pound. But it's fairly difficult to find Taiwan basil in HK and I've searched many places. When I tasted this Thai green curry that was filled with Taiwan basil, I immediately fell in love and couldn't stop eating it. The curry itself was creamy and sweet with coconut aromas. This was sooooo yummy with the toasted garlic bread, MUST TRY! =
