Last Sunday I had brunch with my parents at Sevva to celebrate Mother's Day at my mom's suggestion and I am really pleased that she made the right choice.For starters, we tried their chopped salad and lobster crepe.The chopped salad was delicious and fresh. It tasted like a caesar sald except that there were chopped ham, chicken and cheese cubes, giving the salad more colour and flavour. The portion was also huge, much to our surprise. The chopped salad was delicious and fresh. It tasted like a caesar sald except that there were chopped ham, chicken and cheese cubes, giving the salad more colour and flavour. The portion was also huge, much to our surprise.
The lobster crepe was nicely done with great cooking. However the lobster meat was rather plain. I would not recommend it to others.
As for main dish, we had their full breakfast and the fried noodle with shreds of chicken and sprouts in Chinese style.
I must say that the breakfast was much better and more price worthy than the fried noodle, not because the noodle was not good (it was very nicely done, much better than many Chinese restaurants). However, fried noodle is still fried noodle and at a price triple that of ordinary Chinese restaurants, I would not say that it is worth it.
The breakfast, on the other hand, offered tasty wagyu beef fillet, scrambled eggs and baked beans. The sausages were, however, not meaty enough with too much starch. I believe there are better alternatives on the market.
As for dessert, we tried the signature crunch cake. As expected, the cream was fresh and thick and the sponge was moist and soft. Their passion fruit tart was also good though I found it a bit sour.
To conclude this is the right restaurant for a splash. The ambience was relaxing, posh and elegant while the view from the balcony was really great. Services were also good and the staff were friendly and considerate. The only suggestion I would like to make is that the cup and saucer they use for coffee are not satisfactory. The shape is too blunt and the porcelain too thick; not matching the fine dining setting of the restaurant.
