When Gram first opened in Hong Kong, there was such a long line for their souffle pancakes. Originally from Japan, they are well known for their extremely high stacks of souffle pancakes. I had tried the one in Japan and wasn't too keen on lining up for the same thing. Lining up for this in Japan was enough. But seeing as it was still open after all these years and we didn't see any line, we decided to go in for a tea break. The restaurant is located in Tsim Sha Tsui's The One. It has an open
The restaurant is located in Tsim Sha Tsui's The One. It has an open space seating area.
The menu is in English, Japanese and Chinese, however, only the descriptions are in Chinese and Japanese. There is a minimum order per person. Apparently other than their signtaure souffle pancakes, they also serve regular pancakes in both savory or sweet along with French toast. I didn't want to order the souffle pancake because I remember it was just too much for one sitting, so we decided to order regular pancakes.
Boyfriend had the Caramelize Banana ($98) as he likes it sweet. The bananas were glazed with sugar to become crystalized on top while the bananas were super soft and sweet. There were toasted pecans and a pitcher of syrup. The pancakes were fluffy and soft and a bit saltier than most other pancakes. It worked as it made the pancakes even sweeter.
A nice little pancake break. A bit better to handle than the souffle version as it wasn't as heavy or sweet.
