A true hidden gem in the heart of Happy Valley, Sushi Sumi has been around for at least a decade. I finally got a chance to try their omakase and I was surprised at how meticulous the chefs were.Ingredients were fresh and preparation and presentation was well thought-out, yet not over-the-top. Ingredients were fresh and preparation and presentation was well thought-out, yet not over-the-top. The kabako-kani (female snow crab) was particularly memorable with the roe and crab meat lightly blanched to retain the sweet and briney flavor of the sea.
Service was great as the waiting staff kept my towels hot and glasses filled.
Overall, a great experience and definitely would revisit.
