It was not my first time to try 別天神 ramen. Last time I tried the small ramen bar at CWB which pleased me so much in terms of quality of food and hospitality. This time we passed by this one at Aeonstyle and came for an early dinner before the crowds. It wasn't full at around 5:45p.m. on Sunday. There was no ramen machine and you had to pay at the cashier first before getting your seats. Choices were limited so we had the same ramen sets to share. Choices were limited so we had the same ramen sets to share. I had to admit that they did quite well in maintaining the quality of the food so that everything was basically the same as those I had not so long ago in CWB.
Lobster Salad

The lobster salad arrived first. There were many crayfishes (maybe it should be crayfish salad rather than lobster salad). The seaweed was crispy. Taste-wise it was quite delicious with quite a lot of crayfish stuck together in a paste.
Pan-fried dumplings

Then our pan-fried dumplings arrived very shortly. Presentation-wise they didn't look so good. But they were pan-fried well, although there was nothing special about the stuffing. I think those from the CWB ramen bar were better.
Then both ramen arrived at the same time.
Prawn Miso Ramen Set

Prawn Miso Ramen smelt so good with 焦香味 of miso and prawns. I liked this one more than the other one. The soft-boiled egg in addition to the snack offered by the set was cooked pretty well with soft and well-seasoned egg yolk. The char siu was not bad either - pretty lean yet still tender enough. The noodles were of those which were pretty thin - had to admit they were not particularly al dente but they absorbed the soup very well so that they were really very delicious. I loved the loads of sweetcorns and spring onions and dried shrimps. A really good ramen indeed.
Hakata Style Ramen Set

Hakata Style Ramen Set was also good although I preferred the other more. I liked the crispy black fungus as one of the toppings in this set.
However, I couldn't find spicy bean sprouts on the side or mashed garlic near our seats. I just managed to see the white sesame and added loads to the ramen to enhance flavour and texture. For some reason, I felt quite thirsty this time while I didn't feel so last time. Overall experience was better last time at CWB compared with this place. Maybe because this one was bigger than the CWB one, I found the service better at CWB too. That said, quality of the ramen themselves seemed to be similar.
