Finally a teppanyaki with the focus where it matters - The food! There are countless teppanyaki around the world which had paid too much attention to the performing art of the chef rather than making good quality food. For me, teppanyaki is a demonstration of the fresh ingredients and how skillfully they are prepared and not just flipping eggs and catching them in their pockets. Tsugu has successfully nailed it!Me and my buddy ordered the 2 person lobster set for a little celebration, the averag
Me and my buddy ordered the 2 person lobster set for a little celebration, the average charge pp starts from 1k, quite pricey at first but I've soon forgotten about the price as I became more attentive to the amazing short journey.

A glimpse of what's to come, a sample of the fresh seafood waiting to be prepared by the chef in front of you.
Digging into the first main course, Hokkaido Scallop, slowly cooked with salt and pepper with minimal other seasoning to preserve the scallops original flavor and served on a candle stove to keep the scallop warm as you enjoy and savor it in small bites.
The golden carp had a very interesting texture with its fried crispy skin on top on its smooth and tender meat. You can taste the amount of skill required to prepare this in perfection.
Japanese whelk prepared in the staple garlic butter sauce. The seductive smell of garlic butter being cooked was a big tease to work up your appetite for the juicy pleasure to come.
The huge, still moving lobster was definitely a highlight of the chef's skill, swiftly dissected on the teppan with simple tools made it look so easy, whilst I normally have trouble unshelling a shrimp! Again, cooked with minimal seasoning as a token of confidence of the faith in the fresh sweetness of the crustacean.
Fresh lime jelly as intermission to refresh your taste buds. Followed by sugar honey toast as a filler to quench your hunger.
A5 Kagoshima wagyu beef think and thick slice to experience the varying texture in your mouth. The thin sliced wagyu beef had the signature melt in your mouth feel, whilst the thick sliced beef had more texture in your mouth, but still with minimal chewing, the chunk of stiff meat would slowly melt, releasing the butter flavored juice inside.
Fried rice and vegetable to end the night, if you're still hungry, there's an option to add sashimi for ~$300! All in all, it was a total blast to dine at Tsugu, what I think is one of the best teppanyaki around!!
