It has been a while since i last dined out with my wife, thus we decided to go out and eat tonight. She suggested western cuisine and decided upon The Balcony. It was located at Queen's Road Central, several minutes walk from Central MTR.For their dinner, they offered set dinner as well as ala carte menu. For their dinner, they offered set dinner as well as ala carte menu. After browsing through, set dinner is a more viable option. It consisted of salad, appetizer, soup, main course, coffee or tea and desserts as well.
The chef was generous on the ingredients of the salad, with ham, carrot, potato in it. It was fresh and crunchy, appetizing as well.
Pan seared Hokkaido scallop with Polonaise sauce - Scallop was placed on top of white carrot, presented nicely. Scallop was chewy and flavourful, and white carrot was cooked till soft and smooth, combining it nicely.
Homemade lobster bisque - It was served in a small cup, and was of thick texture. It was very creamy and smooth, with strong lobster taste.
Pan fried NZ hake fillet with kimchi mashed potatoes - Fillet was grilled till nicely, with the skin soft and crispy. Fillet was very soft and smooth, and mushroom was juicy and chewy too. Mashed potato was flavourful and soft, with kimchi taste in it making it very interesting.
Iced lemon tea was sweet and refreshing, served after we have finished our meal.
Dessert platter - It was served ginger ice cream with vanilla pudding. Ginger ice cream was smooth and creamy, with slight ginger taste. Vanilla pudding was very soft and smooth, with strong vanilla taste.
