Boyfriend and I were in Yuen Long and we saw this long queue of people buying the most surprising item. Chinese marinaded products. Things like duck, goose, feet, tongue. Items are shown in front of you so you can just point what you want and order from one person while you pay another person at the cashier while someone will hand you the food. It's pretty efficient so the line went quickly.
I ordered marinaded duck tongue because OMG I love it. I know it sounds gross but honestly, it's amazing. At least to me. I ordered 3 taels (they use Chinese measurement units so I have no idea what that is but I think 1 tael = 37 g) and it was a decent size portion. The size of each tongue was a bit small compared to other shops but wow. The marinade was amazing. Rich and strong. Salty without being too salty. It was packed with flavor the tongues soaked it all up. I can see why people lined up for this place. If I'm ever in Yuen Long again, I'll buy some more.
