I pass by Mr. Crab by The Captain's House every day on my way to work but never really give it a try until now. For some strange reason, the shop sign kind of reminds me of Mr. Krabs from Spongebob Squarepants. The restaurant is located in Johnston Road, Wan Chai. On my way to the second floor, I was really impressed by the decorations. The wooden floor, the painting on the wall, the anchor as well as the swim ring all made me feel like I was boarding a ship. The atmosphere of the ground floor and the second floor was really different. The seats on the second floor are cozy and the lighting is just right.
My friend and I ordered one Signature Combo and two dinner sets. The Signature combo contains clams, prawn, mussel, sweet corn, potatoes, and pork sausage, all of which are served in a plastic bag, as if the seafood was just fresh out of the sea. The waiter then did the famous “shake shake”, making sure that the sauce is well-mixed with the seafood before serving it to us.
The seafood was fresh but I found the sauce more delicious. It complimented the seafood perfectly. The waiters were attentive and kept clearing the plate from time to time. Plastic apron and gloves were also provided. Note that you could select the kinds of seafood you like and create your own seafood combo.
We ordered two four-course dinner sets. Both main dishes were up to standard. The fish & Chips in Truffle Style was crispy yet not greasy.
The source of the Crab Meat Linguine Carbonara was thick and creamy.
Together with the S’More Cheesecake as dessert, my stomach was completely satisfied.
Oveall, the food is of good quality and the service is awesome. I would recommend the restaurant to my friends and would definitely visit again myself.
