Came here for dinner with boyfriend's family as they live in this area. Boyfriend told me that the mall had undergone completely new renovations and he noticed new restaurants opened up so wanted to give it a try.

The mall is located in a strategic location. Right next to the famous Wong Tai Sin Temple. The restaurant itself is located on the bottom floor. A prime spot for many tourists looking for a place to eat.

Seating was spacious and it seemed to have a theme of old Shanghai. Menu is in English and Chinese and has plenty of photos. Upon sitting down, I realized they were from the same group as Shanghai Po Po. I have no idea why they didn't stick with the same name here as they serve similar menus.

I did notice they had a vegetarian only menu. I show you a photo the menu here as I found it interesting for any vegetarian eaters. I suppose as it's next to a Buddhist temple, they offer vegetarian options?

Kinds of 4 Cold Dishes ($92). We started off with an appetizer. This consisted of (from left to right): sweet and sour ribs, air dried fish, braised wheat glutten and jellied pork. All were in small bite sized bits. The ribs were pretty good and tender. Though the fish was a bit too chewy. Wheatglutten was a bit too salty for me but boyfriend seemed to think it was perfectly fine.

Xiao Long Bao ($32). You can't go to a Shanghai restaurant for the first time without checking out the famous xiao long bao, right? So, we ordered that. It was ok though the skin was a bit thicker than I would have liked.  There also wasn't enough soup found inside the little baos. But at least the pork tasted ok.

Minced Apple and Garlic Cold Noodles ($45). We chose this as it was odd and seemed similar to the cold noodles that are served in Korean restaurants. This was similar but they used Shanghai noodles instead. I found it a bit strange. The sauce was pretty good as it was a cold, sweet and sour from the apples, giving it a refreshing taste. But the noodles used was odd and didn't seem to flow as well.

Fried Eel With Rice Cake ($75). This was actually pretty good. The rice cakes were soft and slightly chewy without being hard to swallow. There was pleny of eel, a rarity I find in many Hong Kong restaurants. It also wasn't super oily nor was it overly clumpy in sauce as sometimes I find this dish to be. I actually liked this dish a lot.

Braised Beancurd with Vegetable Chicken Roll ($56). We chose a vegetarian dish from the vegetarian menu. The beancurd soaked up all the savory sauce. There were slices of vegetarian chicken meat. Though that didn't taste like chicken at all, it had the same texture that was interesting.

Sweet and Sour Chicken ($68). This was ok but boyfriend really loved it. The chicken was moist and not dried out. The sauce was a fairly good balance of sweet and sour. There wasn't a heavy coating of flour so this was good as well.

A fairly decent place for a family style dinner. It was clean and convenient to get to as it's next to the MTR station. Food was alright and not too bad. Service was friendly. Would return if boyfriend and his family wanted to have dinner near their home again.
