In everyone's mind, lines of Korean restaurants will come to their minds when one's mention Austin Ave. Surprisingly, there is a popular ramen shop in between of them. With friend's recommendation, we decided to walk in for lunch during work. Shop's signboard was in bright red colour, easy to recognize from afar. Shop's interior was quite small, typical of many ramen stalls in Japan. Shop can only accomodate 9 person and the layout was of ramen bar - high table and chairs facing kitchen style. F

Shop can only accomodate 9 person and the layout was of ramen bar - high table and chairs facing kitchen style. For people who want to dine in here need to arrive earlier as they tend to get filled up pretty quickly.
Their menu is very straightforward and limited - they serve only ramen and drinks. There is 10 types of ramen for customers to choose and most of the ramen comes with sliced pork and seaweed. For people who wanted to have more, they can choose to top up with other ingredients.
Like most of the ramen shops, they come with complimentary green tea. Unlike most of the ramen shops that serves hot green tea, they serve mild cold green tea.
I decided to order Kyushu spicy ramen as it was the shop's special ramen. Kyushu style ramen is one of Japan’s top ramen styles. Kyushu style ramen is different from other style of ramens because of it's rich and thick broth that’s mostly done with Tonkotsu (pork bone) broth and sometimes combined with a chicken and/or vegetable broth. Kyushu broth is deep, flavorful and is balanced nicely with a beautiful layer of fat on top. The depth of flavor and richness of Kyushu ramen broth is definitely for the hungry and the hearty. It is said that the Kyushu style noodles are straight and thin because with the thick Tonkotsu broth, you don’t really need the curls to hold the soup onto the noodles. Kyshu style noodles are good but not that special. Overall, I have had better ramen for the price they charge.
