I've seen this restaurant at Wan Chai various times but never got round trying it. Felt like Vietnamese food so we decided to give this branch a go.We went there there at about 2:00p.m. and there were a few tables left. The menu was pretty comprehensive but we decided to stick to the basics. We ordered butter chicken-wings, fried spring rolls, sugar-cane prawns and a chicken pho' to share. All of them were very good. We ordered butter chicken-wings, fried spring rolls, sugar-cane prawns and a chicken pho' to share.
All of them were very good. I'd say the butter chicken-wings are better than the ones at "Rice Paper" (TST branch - the one at Festival Walk is still very good). The fried springs rolls came with a large basket of herbs (could be more fresh though).
It's not easy to get juicy sugar-cane prawns but it's nicely done here. The timing is pretty good - the prawns are still juicy and one could chew on the sugar cane too.
The pho' is really the highlight in any Vietnamese restaurant and I'm pleased to report that both the broth and the texture of the noodle are good.
The flavor of the broth is on the heavy side and quite complex. It's tasted like some sort of chicken/pork consomme. It's very good. The texture of the pho (noodle) is quite chewy and smooth. The chicken stripes are all soft and fresh. Highly recommended.
Friendly and efficient service. Nice decor.
Will definitely return to try out the specialties.
