It was raining so I decided to just do take away and head home with boyfriend. We came across A Bowl. A small take away only shop serving poke.The toppings were easily visible and they looked fresh.Menu is in English and Chinese. They have pre-designed pokebowls. But the one thing that was a bit different is they offer a hot bowl. I had the Fishbowl ($98). This was seasoned tuna and salmon, half a Japanese soft boiled egg, crab roe, avocado, mushrooms and lettuce on top of rice. I also added shredded egg, cucumber, peppers, purple cabbage and crunchy rice balls with nori. All with a pomelo mayonnaise sauce. The toppings were fresh and generous. The rice was still soft and warm. Everything was well seasoned from the sauce.
Boyfriend had the Seafood Bowl ($90). This included edamame, onsen egg, spicy prawn, crab roe, wasabi octopus with yam on rice all with a sesame sauce. He also added shredded egg, purple lettuce, cucumbers and peppers. The prawn wasn't too spicy but just enough to give it a kick. The wasabi octopus was good, too. Fresh and firm with not too heavy douse of wasabi. Everything was fresh.
I had the Mixed Berry Smoothie ($14). Thick and creamy with a bit of mix berry taste.
Boyfriend had the Lemon Barley Tea ($2 for cold). Very refreshing and healthy tasting.
Everything was packed very well in a sturdy paper bag. Lids were well sealed so nothing leaked on the way home. Food tasted good and was very fresh. Service was friendly and helpful in questions we asked. Price was not too expensive as it came with a set drink.
