Went to Yakiniku Shin a long time ago. They used to have charcoal grill at the counter and chefs who grilled and talked to us. They didn't have charcoal grill anymore because of license problems. Not the fatty intestines as I expected. It was precooked and very soft. However the layer of fat, which is the essence of beef offal, was almost gone because it has already been cooked which gave it an easy-to-chew texture but on the downside, I couldn't have the popping fat that'd burst in the mouth.
日本雞頸 Japanese Chicken Neck $58
Thick cuts of chicken neck. Good amount of fat and very juicy. One of my favorite because of the tight and elastic texture.
日本雞心 Chicken Heart $58
Crisp and crunchy texture. I enjoyed it medium-well so it was very juicy too.
涼伴漬物 Pickles $58
Consisted of radish, spinach and bean sprouts. The radish was vinegary. Too sour for me but good for cleaning the palate after eating fat meat. Spinach and bean sprouts were similar to the Korean pickles.
We did not drink sake because honestly the sake vending machine was troublesome. It dispensed just one small cup of sake each time. Normally I drink at least one bottle of 四合瓶 720ml so if I opted for sake, I'd have to leave my seat for self-service for at least 20 times...
八千代伝 黒麹 芋焼酎 Yachiyoden Kurokoji Sweet Potato Shochu $468
On the rock was their standard serving method. Sweet and intense aroma of satsumaimo.
Service was below average. Some staff were just chitchatting and using cellphone right in front of us whenever they were idle. Please show your guests some respect, go into the kitchen to fiddle with your cellphone and drink your sake!
