To say that it is the best japanese style burger in town is certainly NOT an overstatement. Revisiting this shop after 2 years and ordering the same ebi-katsu (which is basically shrimp patty) burger and upgraded to large fries and coke for free. I am personally not so fond of these petit japanese burgers and I'd much prefer those huge American ones. And being not impressed by the tasteless burger that I had in this shop 2 years ago, I decided not to come here again until a friend of mine got
I am personally not so fond of these petit japanese burgers and I'd much prefer those huge American ones. And being not impressed by the tasteless burger that I had in this shop 2 years ago, I decided not to come here again until a friend of mine got me this coupon:-
After placing the order, I had to wait a few minutes before I could get my burger. But my take-away was given a higher priority
To start with the ebi-katsu, I would say it amazed me with the strong buttery taste inside the bun. A thick layer of very yellowish butter was spread over the lower part of the it, not only bringing out the essence of the bread but also enriching the overall taste. The bun is soft and slightly toasted on the inside, melting the butter. The patty itself was rather tasteless, but it goes well with the japanese mayo that mixes the shredded lettuce. Not taking the tastelessness into account, the patty is actually quite commendable. The crust is crispy yet not too greasy. The best thing about the patty is that it got half-a-finger-long shrimps in complete shape inside!
The thick-cut fries were okay. The large fries was actually not big but in a good portion. Potatoish taste was good even without ketchup. But I seriouly do not recommend take-away fries as it becomes cold and soggy after walking a distance.
There's just not much to say about the coke. But one thing worth mentioning is that the ice is in small size - I think smaller ice tends to melt slower. A pleasant meal in a working day!
