Around a year ago, I had lunch buffet at the Marriot Cafe with my mom and my bf. I started to feel sick even before we left the hotel. I had to stay for a while. My bf and my mother were fine because I think they didn't have any oyster. I didn't tell the hotel at that time. We left and I had to find a washroom a few times on the street. Anyway, I am not posting a negative comment about my experience. I always enjoy the food at Marriott Cafe. What I am telling you here is that when I called the Cafe Manager, he was very sympathetic and apologetic. I think it was probably because it was the SARS period lol. He asked me if I had a fever actually! I told him I just wanted to tell him to check their food carefully cos I always enjoyed eating at their restaurant. He took down my telephone nos. and my address and arranged for a BIG fruit basket to be delivered by hand to me at home the next day.
It is quite common that you get allergic or sick of eating something, but how often would a restaurant send you a fruit basket and admitted their mistakes? I guess it's very rare.
