We had the brunch at Hutong last Sunday to celebrate my hubby's birthday. It was not just a big disappointment but a complete rip-off. Not only very few buffet dishes were offered - All dishes were made of cheap ingredients and none of them were skillful dishes. Here were the selections : 5 different types of steamed buns/dumplings -same stuffing pretty much, minced pork with veg, veg only or plain. 3 cold dishes : pickled cucumbers, soy sauced gluten and plain shredded chicken. 7 hot dishes : p
Here were the selections : 5 different types of steamed buns/dumplings -same stuffing pretty much, minced pork with veg, veg only or plain. 3 cold dishes : pickled cucumbers, soy sauced gluten and plain shredded chicken. 7 hot dishes : plain soy sauced fried noodles (ok maybe with a handful of mushrooms), plain bok choy steamed rice, fried fish pieces, fried chicken pieces (they added a lot of chillis to present it as a different dish), fried veg spring rolls, stewed mushrooms in soy sauce, stewed cabbage in chilli and soy sauce. You can select a main dish from the brunch list, like grilled beef in skewer or ginger & shallot chicken. Nothing special really.
For almost $500 per person, I would call that a rip-off as it was the worst buffet we ever had. The view was the only thing we enjoyed....
