Originating in San Francisco, Tuttimelon now lands in HK as one of its first outlets in Asia (there's already an outlet in Macau already). It's also one of the fist self-service Froyo places in HK, i.e. you can fill your own yogurt in the what they call "Tutticup", scoop in all the fillings you want, then go weigh & pay at the counter. I was at a loss at first for how the yogurt machines worked. Luckily cheerful Tuttigirls aka shop staff were all around and coached me along. Thanks Tuttimelon in

Tuttimelon in HK actually offers over 20 flavors of yogurt on rotation, and at any one time 10 are available in the machines. According to Tuttimelon's website its yogurts are all natural and fat-free, and only worth 30 kcal per ounce (excluding toppings), a bargain for weight watchers of course. Pricing-wise, it's the standard HK froyo price of $15/100g. Remember now we're talking about enjoying it in a quasi-upscale mall complete with an alfresco area line with bamboo-grown walls.
So I squeezed my yogurts - Original Tart, Peach & Guava. I was equally amazed as some of our reviewers here at the sight of the toppings - WASABI GREEN PEAS?????? Who wants something like this in a froyo? If anyone's tried it on a froyo please tell me how it tastes like. And there're the usual Oreo, mochi, chocolate-this and chocolate-that...you name it. I just sprinkled a little Granola as a staple and some Fruity Pebbles for color. The fruit toppings, well I have to agree, were pretty watery and there were quite a few rainbow-colored unidentifiable pearls and gummies . I only picked something that looked more like normal fruits, i.e. strawberry, kiwi and blueberries. And all this came to 190 g = $28.5.
The seating area at the back of the shop were full so I was lucky enough to get some fresh air at the alfresco area. HELP~~the froyo's already starting to melt! So even though the details of the tartness and sweetness of the individual flavors were stated on the froyo machines, the only thing I could taste now was the fake flavor of my Peach froyo! How can they make such artificial flavors out of "natural" ingredients? I was amazed again. The froyo wasn't as creamy as some other froyo places, I guess it's because Tuttimelon has to live up to its claims of being fat-free right?
My toppings weren't exactly fantastic, but for your information, the Fruity Pebbles are candy-colored and candy-tasting the trick is to strike a balance between dry and fruit toppings and you'll be fine.
Of course eating Froyo Tuttimelon is good fun that you can play with all sorts of combinations, and the cheerful atmosphere would certainly lift up your spirits!
