We were so thirsty and hot spending our afternoon walking under the sun. Craving a cup of iced boba to quench the thirst so we decided to get taiwanese food for dinner. Seeing so many people recommend this place so we came to give it a shot. So lucky that we got the one and only empty table upon arrival so no need to queue!
We ordered salted crispy chicken, small braised pork rice and egg pancake with cheese and taro paste. For drinks, we both ordered jasmine green milk tea with pearls and requested less ice and sugar.
Drinks came first and first sip was disappointing. Pearls were okay with chewy texture, but milk tea was bland like water and tasted even worse after diluting by the melted ice. Salted crispy chicken was fried golden, very savoury with pepper salt sprinkled on top. Meat was tender, not dry so good job! The portion of small braised pork rice was actually quite big, we couldn't finish the whole bowl even we shared. Braised pork was richly seasoned, it's on a sweet side with gelatinous texture which just melt directly in mouth. But started to feel oily when I had more. Lastly came the egg pancake with cheese and taro paste. It was served with some sweet soy sauce, but I think it's flavourful enough just had it alone without dipping the sauce. Pancake was soft and chewy with generous fillings. There was cheese pull when I bite into it, taro paste had just the right amount of sweetness. Not bad!
