We wanted to try a quiet place where we could chill and have skewers near Jordan, and happened to stumble across this place on openrice. When we sat down, all other tables were already full, which was very surprising as it was a Monday night. There was a huge variety to choose from, and in the end, we were only given a few skewers and a bowl of udon noodles between 2 people. The eggs were alright, normal flavouring of mirin and some sugar, and was fairly dry. The minced chicken skewers were very interesting texturally, as there was the crunch from the cartilages with every bite. This was the best in my opinion, but not great compared to even convenient store standards. The chicken kidneys were a little dry and hard to chew on, but if you like hard chewy things this may be for you. The whelk and squid tasted like whelk and squid but slightly charred. If you like the original raw ingredients, then you would like it.
As for the udon miso soup, there were a lot of oysters, all of which were quite large and tasted quite fresh. The soup was flavourful and even though it had a strong miso and fresh seawater taste, the saltiness was not overpowering. Overall, a decent dish with a good soup base, but the udon portion would be more ideal for 1 person than 2.
