Decided to give this place a go during lunch as it was evidently popular with the locals and students. As we got our Chiu chow sets, the people around were ordering huge pasta sets with generous slabs of pork chops. The Chiu chow section was nothing to shout home about. The rice portions were too big, while the meats were given sparingly. We got three sets, firstly, the salted chicken with rice. We got another plate of the oily spring onion sauce - it really goes well with white rice, coats every bite with a nicely fragrant flavour 😊
The Chiu Chow combination rice set was a bit stingy on the accompanying dish and sauce, but the goose meat was good. The intestines were cleaner than other stores, but again, too little to properly enjoy the flavour. The porridge set was better as it had a better balance of carbs and meat. The highlight was their hot milk tea, the ones that come complimentary with the sets. It was wonderfully silky and made the meal a lot better. All in all, it's nothing too special, but a good lunch for the price.
