Flora House is a quaint Western style cafe located close to the Hong Kong Central Library. The interior decorations are very pretty and the walls are lined with flowers. We decided to order 2 dinner sets, which includes a soup and a salad, as well as the main course. Some of the drinks are also offered at half price. The soup was a creamy corn soup, which was quite thick in consistency and very creamy. The salad was a smoked salmon salad, and I thought it was rather refreshing.
For the main course, we ordered the Sous Vide Salmon Fillet ($168) and Risotto Al Nero with Soft Shell Crab. The fish was nicely done and the mashed potatoes made it even more appealing. I actually preferred it without the sauce, in fact, but all in all, it was good. The risotto was equally good and the squid ink really added to its visual effects. The soft shell crab was not too oily and the pieces were very big, meaning that the batter comparatively didn’t feel too thick. Both the portions were huge too!
For drinks, we ordered the Green Tea latte and the Rose tea. I felt that the Green Tea latte could’ve used with more green tea flavour as it tasted much like plain milk.
