I went there with my family and friends for dinner. I was expecting it to be very cold on the boat but I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the temperature was. Cool but not too cold. It's not a big boat by any means but big enough for everyone to spread out and relax. Very cozy and laid back. The view was great! I'm guessing the view is even better when the sun is just setting. The view was great! I'm guessing the view is even better when the sun is just setting. For me the night scenery was calm and relaxing. It really is nice to get away from the busy life once in a while. It's nice that I could do so easily without the expense and the hassle of going overseas.
OK. So the dining experience!
We had the following dishes:
1. Steam Fish and vegetable - fish was tender and flavorful
2. Fried Tofu
3. Razor clams - One of my favorite dishes of the night. So delicious.
4. Roasted Goose - Crispy skin, lots of fat, probably the best Roasted Goose I had in my life.
5. Turban Shellfish in spicy soup - I've never really like eating these shell fish but this was surprisingly flavorful. I ended up eating a lot of it.
6. Fried E-mian noodle
7. Salty fish and chicken fried rice - This really hit the spot. It's the carbohydrate that settles everything!
8. Stir-fried Crab - Excellent flavor.
The food was so good I totally forgot to take pictures.
The same dinner would easily cost a lot more in Lei Yue Mun and I can say that the food here on the little wooden boat is excellent. I also think dining on the boat is very neat.
Oh! and another wonderful surpise was that there was a handsome gentleman playing piano and singing on a boat next to ours while we were dining. The piano player knows a lot of songs so we took turns singing after the meal was over.
Honestly we had such a happy time on the boat.
We'll surely go back in for our next family gathering!
