The decor is typically what you would expect from a char charn ting, but the seating is reasonably comfortable and the hygienic condition acceptable. One interesting point about the decoration is the celebrity posters (with signatures) on the walls which give a rather nostalgic feel to the place ... ... don't ask me why, especially since all the celebrities are of the younger generation and mostly from one entertainment company only ... ...

Of course, one has to order the signature dish when you visit this place - Hainan chicken leg with rice (you need to ask for chicken leg, which costs an extra $5). The chicken texture is very tender with the bones already removed, the oil rice is fine but not superb, but the main draw turned out to be the sauce - spicy and hot, and a perfect match with the chicken ! I had no difficulty finishing the whole dish of rice. My wife ordered a steamed mullet which was fine. And don't forget to order the soup of the day as well - very nice, not like the usual stuff with lots of MSG ... ... a real added treat.
Of course the price is not cheap, but considering the food and the location, it is worth it. Not the most outstanding Hainan chicken I have tried but certainly a cut above the average. Well worth a visit.
One side line - while we were settling the bill we had a a quick chat with the manager. When he learned that we were first-time comers, he looked a bit surprised and asked about our opinion of the food. Then he asked whether I read Open Rice and urged me to do so !
Apparently OR is gaining popularity these days and I think many store owners, if they are smart enough, will read about the comments on their own stores here. So, to the owner of 大少爺, bravo and keep up the good work !
