Long anticipated a bowl of noodles from this shop - but I was disappointed. Ordered a squid ball and beef tendon ('muk yu yuen' + 'ngau gun') rice stick noodles ('mi fen')' with extra vegetables (+$5, cheap, but they only had Chinese lettuce as an option)Service was POOR: impolite staff. When i asked for extra vegetables the only thing they seemed to care about was the $5. I handed them a $50 bill (I didn't have any change on me) and the cashier actually said 'Yau mo dai d ah?!' Service was POOR: impolite staff. When i asked for extra vegetables the only thing they seemed to care about was the $5. I handed them a $50 bill (I didn't have any change on me) and the cashier actually said 'Yau mo dai d ah?!' (translation: a sarcastic remark about my lack of change). I said 'Ng ho yi si' (apologized) and my apology was ignored.
2. THEY DIDN'T HAVE BEEF TENDON! I really wanted beef tendon; it was what I came to a noodle shop for! And they didn't have it!
I was NOT told they didn't have any so I ordered beef tendon AND squid balls; when I ate it there were only 3 squid balls and 1 piece of beef tendon. I am quite sure this is not their usual 'protein portion'... PLUS I am sure I ordered beef tendon, because it said so on my receipt!!!
3. The broth was OK but perhaps a bit too salty. I don't know if they use MSG, but I won't be surprised if they did.
4. The only thing I like about this shop is that they have a cute little paper bowl (for takeout) with their logo 'Nam Kee Noodle' on it, and their own plastic bag too! Didn't bother taking any pictures though
Cheap and OK speed, but I won't come back - there are so many other noodle shops out there.
