Me and my friend wanted to get dessert somewhere closer to the central neighborhood. It was kind of late at the time we started looking, so we knew that wherever we went would have to be open somewhat late. I think my friend actually found this place on open rice. This place is not big, but is fairly charming and has a reasonably large selection of desserts. This place is not big, but is fairly charming and has a reasonably large selection of desserts. It definitely has a hong kong/asian flair, in that many of the desserts have a matcha flavoring to them, or that many traditionally hk-ish items are served, such as tiramisu. I was trying to decide between a banana with chocolate waffle, or creme brulee, but in the end decided to go with the creme brulee. My friend got a banana split.
The creme brulee takes a few minutes to prepare- not long, maybe 5-10 minutes. It is fairly well done and costs about $48 hkd. There isn't too much sugar in this creme brulee (relative to some of the other ones I've had), and it's got an interesting texture. The top is not terribly hard, so I'm not sure how they did the finish... perhaps with a flambe torch? I typically like it when the crust is a little harder than the way they served it, so perhaps that's something these guys can improve on. Again, the taste was good, but I typically like mine with a little more sugar, aka sweeter. I didn't try my friend's banana split, but it's fairly comprehensive: you get ice cream, whipped cream, some chocolate sauce and a banana. It's fairly well done from the looks of it, and my friend didn't have any complaints.
They have wifi here if you need to use it (there is a passcode on the wall on the left towards the back), and the menu is displayed on a blackboard as well as in the menus, so you should be able to get a clear understanding of what they serve very quickly. Again, this place is open late, so you can consider coming for late night after dinner.
题外话/补充资料:
if you instagram your dessert experience here and tag them, you can get a $10 discount
