Kwai Chung Plaza is an interesting foodie destination. It always has the oddest small take away only shops serving the most strangest food items ever.Bove is one of many small take away shops. Bove is one of many small take away shops. But what they sell is a little different. They sell souffle pancakes. Yes, the currently popular Japanese style souffle pancakes.
The shop is very small. One window is to order. Ordering is done in certain time slots that they will post at the cashier. The other window is pick up.
When it's time to order, you queue up and they will give out a total of 15 tickets . This is how many pancake batter they have prepared. If they have run out of tickets, they make new batter for the next time slot.
This is my ticket. After you order, they tell you to return in 20 minutes.
Menu is in Chinese only but there are photos. What you do is you order the type of pancake (original, chocolate or green tea). You get a syrup (honey, mix berry or chocolate) or cream (Baileys or regular). You can add a filling (strawberry, Ferrero Rocher, marshmallow, chocolate/marshmallow, strawberry/marshmallow and chocolate/berry). If you add a filling, you get both syrup and whipped cream.
This is my order. Regular souffle pancake ($28) as green tea and chocolate was sold out. Filled with Ferrero Rocher ($8). Topped with mixed berry sauce, Baileys whipped cream and some popcorn. The pancake was really good. Soft and fluffy. It looked nice and high as well. The whipped cream had a slight Bailey's taste but it wasn't very strong. Popcorn was cute and crunchy.
The stuffing was actually just Nutella which was fine with me but made the whole thing super sweet. But it oozed out in a really sinful way.
These were much better than I had expected. Much better than I Love You Dessert Bar in Mong Kok who also do street style souffle pancake.
