Honestly, the Drunken pot is not really a bad choice for having hotpot with a group of friends because of its interesting soup base, and it is also one of our favourite hotpot places, that's why we are coming here again and again. Compared to the cwb branch, the TST branch is a lot more spacious and both of them have a big bar at one side of the restaurant. After we were seated, we were given a mix of condiments and as usual, we get to mix our own sauce to go with our hotpot.

Begger So , The Brillant Begger $98

As I have mentioned before, a well stocked bar is ready for you to order your favourite kind of alcoholic drinks. We have ordered this interesting cocktail made with Bacardi White Rum, Mancino Bianco, Homemade Sugarcane Herbal Tea, and Celery Bitters. 

It is particularly refreshing because it is slightly sweet from the sugarcane as well as the white rum. I found it the perfect kind of drink for me to counterbalance with the heat from the hotpot.

The Drunken Pot (酒火入鍋)$328

We have ordered a pot with five different soup bases and they have kept us busy through the whole meal as we were trying to find different combinations between the food and the soup.

Before we start digging in, the staff would pour some sake into the middle hole, which is the whole papaya then light it up on fire. It is not just a show but it is all about flavours. The subtle light sake flavour is just nice to go with the sweet soft papaya. After some time, the papaya would absorb the flavour from the alcohol, making it even more delicious in my point of view. 
Drunken Pot cares about the quality of the ingredients. The shrimps in the middle of the papaya is fresh with a firm texture. Just remember not to overcook it.

Teochew-style satay soup 
Satay soup is the most savoury soup base among all. It is very nutty and not spicy. There are no other ingredients in the soup while the rest of the soup would have something to munch on.

Boston lobster in tomato lobster soup
There is a halved lobster in this soup. The lobster flavour has pretty much gone into the soup but the head of the lobster is still flavourful with some roes it in. 
I like the this soup a lot because it's quite sweet in taste which is great for any kind of dumplings or tofu. Pieces of cherry tomatoes can also be found in the soup and they are absolutely delicious.

Beef brisket in clear broth
I have been craving for beef brisket for a very long time and I am surprised to find this soup on the menu. Even more surprisingly, the briskets are very tasty just just the right amount of fat, meat, and tendon. It's very succulent and it is almost melting in the mouth. Meanwhile, the radish is quite hard in texture and it really does take a long time to cook.

Sichuan style numbingly spicy soup
Personally I really liked it because it's spicy but not the kind that you can't eat. It's best to go with the beef slices as the soup is hung onto the meat. Besides, there are lots of deep fried tofu, pig skin, and bean shoots in the soup.

Black Truffle, Shrimp & Crabmeat Dumplings $88
Compare to some other dishes, dumplings is a good choice as it comes in 6 pieces for just $88. Each piece is packed with quality ingredients instead of just pig fat.

Each dumpling has a big piece of mushroom and lots of crab meat in it that is making it chewy and somewhat crunchy at the same time. I also liked the skin that they use which is different from normal dumplings. It's very chewy and almost elastic, similar to the "Fish Skin Dumpling" type of skin.

Assorted Fortune Bag $160
The assorted bags consist of all 3 different kinds of bags on the menu and I would highly recommend you to order it just to try more of the flavour with just a bit more money. They are super cute and almost too cute too be eaten.

Quail egg fortune bag - the latest among them as it is just a white soft sheet wrapping around a clean quail egg, healthy and delicious at the same time. It's recently been proved that eggs are not bad for you! Even the yolk!

Black truffle squid ink fortune bag - they use truffle paste to mix with the pork meat and wrapped around in squid ink sheet. The sheet's texture is different from the previous one probably because they have to change the recipe to mix more liquid in. It's a bit thinner and softer at the same time which is delicious.

Teriyaki beef fortune bag - It's a very well balance fortune bag. The shell is once again thin, thinner than the quail egg one, and the filling has a flavourful beefy taste. It's juicy on the inside, and still slightly chewy on the outside. This is my favourite fortune bag among them.

Deep-fried Homemade Bean Curd and Seaweed Rolls $58
These freshly deep fried been curd rolls are nicely done in every way. They are not too oily but also not dry. Layers of sheet has been wrapping around the seaweed nicely and they are flaky as hell.

You may either enjoy it as it is by dipping them into the sour sauce, making it still very crispy in every bite. Or you may dip and soak them into our favourite soup base, making it semi-soft and a lot more flavourful with the soup.

Vegetable Platter $58
You don't wanna sleep on their veggie platter as they are just amazing and beautifully done. Lots of different leafy greens and even pumpkins, and cherry tomatoes can be found in the basket. Literally a basket of nutrition right here! Not to mention that everything is fresh and tasteful!

Hanging Premium Sliced Angus $188
Last but not least, you must order their hanging beef which is simply amazing! For just $188, you may enjoy a fairly generous amount of quality meat with with sexy marble mark. They are very thinly sliced and the fat ratio is just perfect to my liking. By cooking them in the sichuan broth for just a few seconds, these beef has turned into just cooked and just spicy enough to bring out all the extra flavours from these delicate Angus beef!

During our 2 hours dining time, it was a fun filled and definitely a scrumptious hotpot that is just in time for the weather. We have pretty much ordered the signature dishes that was recommended by the restaurant and so do you. Everything was good when they are using good ingredients. That's also why this hotpot place is so worth coming again and again!
