Honestly, the Drunken pot is not really a bad choice for having hotpot with a group of friends because of its interesting soup base, and it is also one of our favourite hotpot places, that's why we are coming here again and again. Compared to the cwb branch, the TST branch is a lot more spacious and both of them have a big bar at one side of the restaurant. After we were seated, we were given a mix of condiments and as usual, we get to mix our own sauce to go with our hotpot.
As I have mentioned before, a well stocked bar is ready for you to order your favourite kind of alcoholic drinks. We have ordered this interesting cocktail made with Bacardi White Rum, Mancino Bianco, Homemade Sugarcane Herbal Tea, and Celery Bitters.
It is particularly refreshing because it is slightly sweet from the sugarcane as well as the white rum. I found it the perfect kind of drink for me to counterbalance with the heat from the hotpot.
We have ordered a pot with five different soup bases and they have kept us busy through the whole meal as we were trying to find different combinations between the food and the soup.
Drunken Pot cares about the quality of the ingredients. The shrimps in the middle of the papaya is fresh with a firm texture. Just remember not to overcook it.
Satay soup is the most savoury soup base among all. It is very nutty and not spicy. There are no other ingredients in the soup while the rest of the soup would have something to munch on.
There is a halved lobster in this soup. The lobster flavour has pretty much gone into the soup but the head of the lobster is still flavourful with some roes it in.
I like the this soup a lot because it's quite sweet in taste which is great for any kind of dumplings or tofu. Pieces of cherry tomatoes can also be found in the soup and they are absolutely delicious.
I have been craving for beef brisket for a very long time and I am surprised to find this soup on the menu. Even more surprisingly, the briskets are very tasty just just the right amount of fat, meat, and tendon. It's very succulent and it is almost melting in the mouth. Meanwhile, the radish is quite hard in texture and it really does take a long time to cook.
Personally I really liked it because it's spicy but not the kind that you can't eat. It's best to go with the beef slices as the soup is hung onto the meat. Besides, there are lots of deep fried tofu, pig skin, and bean shoots in the soup.
Compare to some other dishes, dumplings is a good choice as it comes in 6 pieces for just $88. Each piece is packed with quality ingredients instead of just pig fat.
The assorted bags consist of all 3 different kinds of bags on the menu and I would highly recommend you to order it just to try more of the flavour with just a bit more money. They are super cute and almost too cute too be eaten.
These freshly deep fried been curd rolls are nicely done in every way. They are not too oily but also not dry. Layers of sheet has been wrapping around the seaweed nicely and they are flaky as hell.
You don't wanna sleep on their veggie platter as they are just amazing and beautifully done. Lots of different leafy greens and even pumpkins, and cherry tomatoes can be found in the basket. Literally a basket of nutrition right here! Not to mention that everything is fresh and tasteful!
Last but not least, you must order their hanging beef which is simply amazing! For just $188, you may enjoy a fairly generous amount of quality meat with with sexy marble mark. They are very thinly sliced and the fat ratio is just perfect to my liking. By cooking them in the sichuan broth for just a few seconds, these beef has turned into just cooked and just spicy enough to bring out all the extra flavours from these delicate Angus beef!
