I love novelty dim sum so Yum Cha was a must try. Their menu selection is quite extensive and as I was in a big group I was able to sample a bit of everything. Good things first in the dim sum and mains: chili pork dumplings and the minced duck in lettuce wrap. These two dishes are must trys in my opinion. Average items next: BBQ pork buns tastes ok, the shredded chicken with noodles also just ok. turnip cake etc all tasted average, nothing special. The worst dishes were definitely the sticken c

Average items next: BBQ pork buns tastes ok, the shredded chicken with noodles also just ok. turnip cake etc all tasted average, nothing special. The worst dishes were definitely the sticken chicken wings, it was too sweet and unappetising. And the crispy wontons had too much deep fried wonton even through the shrimp filling itself was nice.
Now for the desserts - only have one thing to say - they were out.of.this.world.good It's rare that a sim sum place has great dessert but the molten custard bun and baked pineapple puff were amazing. Even their chocolate 'sexy deserts' were served with finesse. I walked out full and satisfied - though I'm sure a lot of people would find it concerning that the dessert was the highlight over the main food.
The good thing is now that I know what dishes to order, my next experience (if they are consistent) will be much better as I will be able to order the favorite dishes and pass on the not so good ones. Unfortunately the 'cute' novelty dumplings will have to pass as the flavor was quite subpar.
