A new sushi take away place opened in Wanchai called 寿司造 (English name: Sushi Maker). I noticed it as it as it was bright and minimalistic in design. Very differen than the other sushi take away places. They have a preparation area in the back room. They also sell frozen seafood as well as Japanese grocery items. I got myself a Grilled Eel Rice ($68) as they said it was the special of the day. It was packaged in a sturdy plastic container. A decent amount of Japanese rice. There was strips of egg on top. But the star was the eel. A very thick cut with no small bones detected. Enough sauce to keep it moist. There was also some burdock and seasoned garlic to hep finish off the rice.
I also added an Assorted Sashimi Platter ($128). You get eight types of seafood including abalone. The seafood was fresh. Some items not often seen in a sashimi platter for this price range so rather good value for money. They had one corner where you can add the soy sauce and wasabi.
Very good sushi take away place. The food was fresh. The place was clean. The service was very nice and courteous. Everything was packed in a sturdy paper bag and they not only included chopsticks but wet tissues which isn't common at all. As it's close enough to home, I'll definitley be back.
