The reason is: because my mobile phone got stolen, I had lost the photos of that delightful meal, especially Beef in Curry. I was thinking that, if the same combination should be offered again, I could post a short review mainly for the photos.
So I waited and waited, I had fish, I had chicken, I had beef, I had minced meat, with cream sauce, with peppery sauce, with curry sauce ... I had various kinds of soup. But the same combination did not repeat itself!
I decided not to wait any longer when Beef Brisket in Curry Sauce was offered again. I want to show you how yummy the dish looks, even in a plastic tray.
Their Beef Brisket in Black Pepper Sauce is also delicious, but I still like it most in their super curry sauce. What add one more star to the dish is that Heart Cafe does not save on sauce. I hate it when I don't get enough sauce to finish my pasta or rice.
I have said in my last Heart Cafe review that I have never been a pasta fan. In actual fact, I even used to hate spaghetti. They are mostly soggy and sticky. But their spaghetti has the right consistency.
The Borscht came as a nice surprise. For a meal of $38 dollars with main dish, soup, and tea, one would not have high expectation of a quality soup. Restaurant Borscht often arrives as a dish of more-or-less ketchup water with a few pieces of dubious this and that swimming in it. But Heart Cafe Borscht is made with real vegetables and real meat, and boasts of 5-star aroma and flavour as well. I would have gladly paid the amount of money for this soup alone.
As it was, for $38 I got the following for lunch:
Beef Brisket & Spaghetti in Curry Sauce
Borscht
Tea (hot, filled to the rim, and creamy milk)
The lunch order was taken by a friendly lady on the phone and delivered by a courteous young man 5 minutes later. Unbeatable service!
PS I am not giving them '5' for 'Environment' because I think they can do something about their 'rattan' chairs. If I should be seated down there to have my lunch, I would wish their chairs to be more comfy. Some cushions maybe?
