Located across to the blue house wan chai, Great Asia Jap restaurant is hidden on the second floor of an old building. We didn't make booking in advance but luckily the restaurant was big so we were immediately seated.The restaurant was filled with the sweet fragrance of sushi rice, so I couldn't help but ordered a Chirashi with 3 assorted fish.The lunch set started with a Japanese style steamed egg and a crabmeat salad. the steamed egg was very smooth, flavorful, and hearty. We didn't make booking in advance but luckily the restaurant was big so we were immediately seated.The restaurant was filled with the sweet fragrance of sushi rice, so I couldn't help but ordered a Chirashi with 3 assorted fish.

The lunch set started with a Japanese style steamed egg and a crabmeat salad. the steamed egg was very smooth, flavorful, and hearty.

The portion of the chirashi don was generous. no I'm not talking about the rice portion, but the sashimi! the salmon, hamachi and the scallops were thick cut and there were total of 9 pieces of sashimi

underneath these super fresh sashimi covered a thin layer of seaweed, which added flavor layers to the overall chirashi don. the rice were warm and the taste of rice vinegar was just right to balance out the fish flavors.

The lunch ended with a choice of coffee or ice cream. I ventured out for coffee (tho I knew there's a big risk to order coffee at a jap restaurant), and my intuition was right...

so here's my tip if ya gonna check out this restaurant, opt for ice cream!
