The shrimps are really good, the waiters/waitresses are friendly, the sea view is just perfect, but what i really wanna emphasize is the CINNAMON BREAD PUDDING!It's THE BEST bread pudding that i've every tasted! I'm willing to take a $60 round trip ride just to eat the bread pudding every week. I can already smell the lovely scent of cinnamon when the waiter is 5 ft away from me. A large square of warm bread pudding with steam still coming out, lying on some warm whisky vanilla sauce, and over the bread pudding is a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with a dollar of freshly whipped double cream. The appearance itself is already very appealing!!!!
Start with the ice cream first, it's very rare for restaurants in HK (even american style restaurant like Dan Ryan) to serve vanilla cream that is made with vanilla beans. The ice cream is rich and very vanilla-ny and smooth. And not only do I like the portion of the ice cream, but also the fact that they freeze the ice cream to rock-like, so that the scoop of ice cream is still here when being served on the table instead of a bed of milk on the plate.
Now about bread pudding. The bread is of cinnamon flavor (tho many people dun like the smell of cinnamon). The custard is all being absorbed by the bread (this is actually the best part i like about it, for many bread pudding i've tried before, some of the custard is not being absorbed or simply they've put too many, so among the bread pudding, u can literally see the custard in between bread or around the corner). And since all custard is being absorbed, the bread is all soggy and moist and the texture is just PERFECT!
Many of u may not understand why i'm so excited about the bread pudding, but i'm a HUGE fan of bread pudding and i just CANT find ANY restaurant in HK serving bread pudding that is up to my expectation! Bubba Gump is DEFINITELY the first and only one! so, please, if u havent tried bread pudding or u dun even know what bread pudding is, u should really go try it out! or for those who dun like cinnamon,u should also go cos i'm sure u'll change ur mind afterwards!
