I am no singaporean but have grown to be a chicken rice lover over my many trips there. So as soon as I got wind about the opening of Hainan Shaoye (cool name huh?) I wanted to try it out.We booked a table in advance and only waited about 5mins before we were sitted (even though we were about 15mins early). We booked a table in advance and only waited about 5mins before we were sitted (even though we were about 15mins early). Grand opening was earlier this week and its already very full-house for lunch.
Chicken and rice was cooked to perfection and we were told that everything is MSG-free (which is very rare for Chinese food in Hong Kong). Soup is kept hot in a mini tea pot and the sources were very authentic.
Would definitely come back again and try the lobster laska (which I was told was sold out for the day!!!!)
