Still feeling hungry, I challenged myself by ordering the Bandeja Paisa: a mixed platter of rice, beans, ground beef, sausage, chicharron, avocado, plantains, and arepas, all topped with a fried egg. By the end of the meal, any sense of hunger was satisfied from the sweetness of the plantains, the crunchiness of the pork (chicharron), smokiness of the sausage, and creaminess of the beans and rice. This meal is not for the faint of heart, but if you come ready, you will be guaranteed a hearty meal that goes perfectly well with an afternoon nap.
