It is always so troubling to find a nice restaurant to do romantic dinners. Luckily, I managed to find Joia, a fine-dining restaurant in Civic Square that served wonderful Italian dishes and had an amazing decor. It was a perfect choice.It was a Wednesday night, so the restaurant was relatively not so crowded. The ambiance was really nice and soothingly romantic. It was a Wednesday night, so the restaurant was relatively not so crowded. The ambiance was really nice and soothingly romantic. We got ourselves our champagne to begin with while we read thru the menu.
After ordering our food, the complementary bread was the first to come, with olive oil. It was nice!
For starters, we got (0)Ristretto con fungi. It was cooked to perfection!
For our main courses, we ordered (1) Gnocchi di patate con spugnole e aglio selvatico (the green one) and (2) Tortelli di bietola con nocciole Piemontesi e ricotta salata (the yellowish dish further back). The Gnocchi was truly one of the best gnocchi I've ever had in my life. The pasta sauce was perfect with the gnocci. I devoured it so quickly without the thought that I should act elegantly! The tortelli was also super great. It was not plain at all despite the simplicity of the dish. It was cooked nicely and seasoned impeccably. Perfecto!
For the desserts, we got (3) Panna cotta (the one with the green on top) and (4) a cherry tart. (the pink). I have to say that the panna cotta was nice, but the basil sorbet was not really my type of sorbet (just in my opinion!)
