very impressed with the soup bases. We had the mala, beauty chicken soup and mushroom (which I was a little apprehensive but turned out to be sweet and not crazily overwhelmed by the earthy mushroomy taste) and the soups are so good on it's own. I didn't feel thirsty after consuming a few bowls so goes to show very little msg if not none is added to the soup. The mala is not stingy like how the typical Chinese version is and is very similar to the ones I had in Taiwan which I much prefer because

I didn't feel thirsty after consuming a few bowls so goes to show very little msg if not none is added to the soup. The mala is not stingy like how the typical Chinese version is and is very similar to the ones I had in Taiwan which I much prefer because of the complexity of the herbs and well balance of ma and la. The mushroom soup came full of a variety of mushrooms in a nice sweet broth with winter melon and celtuce - perfection and the beauty chicken soup which is in the middle is full of collagen goodness and glides down the throat nicely.

The ingredients are very fresh - the prime grade hand sliced beef came thick which surprised me but it is super chewy and has a well balanced ratio of meat to tendon / fat. The deep fried bean curd roll came freshly off the fryer which is much better than most places that serve it fried in re-used oil but this u can taste the bean curd itself. I love their prawns, super fresh and sweet and their fish maw beef ball, especially bouncy and juicy, the fish maw surprisingly works very well with beef. The sliced potato goes so well with the mala and is a must order for me.

Only thing that didn't stand out is the duck's blood which was a little too jelly-hard like for me, would have been great if it retains a a little tofu like texture.

Great experience and highly recommended. Taiwanese style hotpot has always been the standout for me because of how they take pride in the soup bases and so much better than the Chinese or HKG style ones!
