A friend told me about this place last week and said I've gotta go check it out. Man, was I impressed!!Strictly speaking, this is a bar/restaurant. You enter from the 6/f. into a bar named 'Lily'. The decor has an incredible sexy vintage feel to it. Cast iron details and reclaimed wood panels line the walls and ceilings. Strictly speaking, this is a bar/restaurant. You enter from the 6/f. into a bar named 'Lily'. The decor has an incredible sexy vintage feel to it. Cast iron details and reclaimed wood panels line the walls and ceilings. Antique furnitures are beautifully lit by candle lights dotted around the long dark bar. I was informed by the bartender that they are famous for their carefully crafted cocktails all made with fresh ingredients and premium and rare spirits. I ordered the first drink on their cocktail list, something called an 'Old Cuban'. Simply put, DELICIOUS!! I'm glad I had to wait 10mins for my table, otherwise I'd have missed this cocktail.
Later, I moved downstairs to their restaurant named 'Bloom'. As soon as I emerged from the stunning stairwell into the dining room, I was immediately greated by a space that is very different from Lily. A warm glow fills the entire room, and the first thing I noticed was their raw bar. As I found out later, this is a great asset to the restaurant. Besides the oyesters and ceviches, my friend and I ordered their bone marrow to share (reccommended by the waitress). Heavenly!! We also ordered their Iberico pork chop and lamb rack, both cooked to near perfection! Also yummy was their desserts. We ordered their chocolate tort and pistachio crem caramel.
I seriously only have good things to say about this new establishments. Well, maybe there's a couple of things that bothered me a little. First, the wait between courses were a tad long. However, the manager came personally to apologize and offered us complimentary cocktails. Yay! Second was the selection of of their wines. I'm no wine expert, but they seem to lack more economical options.
All in all, the drinks, the decor and vibe, the food and service... all very good indeed!
