In the Tsuen Wan area, we decided to have dinner before heading home. Walking around, we found that every restaurant in this area had crowds of people waiting in line. After some discussion, we decided to try out this one and got a ticket. The menu is in Chinese only. There is no 10% service charge and you order by checking off what you want right on the menu. The place serves various Taiwanese style street eats. You pour your own water but what was most surprising of all was the tank of wintermel

You pour your own water but what was most surprising of all was the tank of wintermelon tea. This was help yourself. Boyfriend was clearly happy as we sat right next to this so we didn't even need to get up to refill our cup. Tableware is also help yourself and found here.
This is the wintermelon tea. It was very dark in color and quite sweet. Boyfriend said it was the perfect sweetness. I was shocked, too as for something that is free, it wasn't watered down.
This is the chicken roll ($20). An item that actually has no chicken meat at all but I guess it resembles chicken? Is that why it's called this? Whatever the case, it was delicous. The item was piping hot. The skin was crispy. The inside was juicy. There was a generous dose of seasoning spice.
The Taiwanese omeleltte ($36) is generally not a favorite of mine in Hong Kong as so many places use too much flor and not enough of everything else. But not here. It didn't taste doughy. There was a good balance of egg to pork floss. We had the cheese version and I felt it could have had a bit more cheese as I didn't detect any. But over all, the best I've had in Hong Kong.
The noodles with salt and pepper chicken ($41) was a decent size portion. The soup generally tasted like MSG but the noodles were fine. Not over cooked.
The star was the fried chicken. Super juicy and moist. It was generously seasoned as well. The portion was generous, too.
This is the small size oyster vermicelli ($48). It was bigger than other places we've been to that offered a small size. There wasn't a lot of oysters but at least they were plump and sweet. The vermicelli was soft and scoopable.
The food was pretty good with a lot of flavor. Service is fast. I think we ordered and definitely didn't wait long at all. No wonder it's popular as it was almost like the food we had in Taiwan.
