A very disappointing dim sum buffet

I've been eyeing Tsui Hang Village (翠亨村)'s all-you-can-eat dim sum buffet for quite some time now. $168 all inclusive is a pretty attractive price (including service charge and tea) but it's a shame that it's only offered at their Causeway Bay location from Monday to Friday.This marks my very first time visiting this branch and I couldn't help noticing all these throw-back themes found everywhere in the restaurant, including this very old-fashioned sliding door.The place here is absolutely huge

 The place here is absolutely huge and can easily accommodate 150-200 people I think.

As soon as I started checking out the regular dim sum menu, I realized that not every dim sum has been included in this all-you-can-eat "fiasco". Disappointingly, there were only around 20 items in there. Instead of going through each and every one of them, let's just look at some of the ones that did make an impression.

 Bird's nest thick soup with assorted seafood (海鮮燕窩羹) - Thick is the word to describe it. Yes, the texture was a little thick but they had just enough bird's nest in there to keep us happy.

 Braised abalone with oyster sauce (蠔皇原隻鮑魚) - Complimentary item so we weren't expecting too much to begin with. Turned out it came in a super small "package". Could easily swallow it all in one bite. A total gimmick!

 Steamed wild mushroom dumplings with black truffle (黑松露野菌餃) - Their dumplings were one of the few bright spots in this long anticipated lunch. The shrimp dumplings were good but the steamed wild mushroom dumplings with black truffle were even better. As a matter of fact, that was the only item that I ended up ordering twice.

 Steamed rice flour rolls stuffed with crispy dough stick (炸両腸粉) - Steamed rice flour rolls were well represented in this all-you-can-eat menu. Four types of rice flour rolls were there including this one stuffed with crispy dough stick. This was seriously good although I didn't feel like stuffing myself with too many of these.

 Traditional black sesame rolls (懷舊芝麻卷) - We called them "film rolls" when we were kids. Haven't had these for a long long time but they are still as good as ever.

 We were all disappointed with the quality on most of these dim sums. I guess they have deliberately left the good (and expensive) ones off the all-you-can-eat menu.
