It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when my friends and I decided to go cycling. We started off from Fo Tan and ended at Sha Tau Kok. It was very enjoyable with nice breeze throughout the route and apparently the routes in Sha Tau Kok do attract lots of bikers during weekends for the nice and smooth paths. After hours of biking, we arrived at Sha Tau Kok. Part of the reason we ended at Sha Tau Kok is because we would like to take a glimpse of the used-to-be restricted area. If you like the suburb
After all the physical activities, we were all starved to death and we decided to dine at the local restaurant which was located right before the border. They have a big parking lot where you could park your car/bikes. It was 6:30 in the evening where the place was already almost full. Luckily we got a table right away. We asked for recommendations for their signature dishes with pictures taken below: We ordered 7 dishes for the meal. One of my friends is Hakka and he said the dishes were very authentic indeed. I find the dishes were good as well, especially the shrimps which were very tasty. The lo sui duck is also recommended as it was fresh and marinated well.
We finally got the bill and it was a very resonable price that could not be found anywhere in the city. For those who came for visiting the open-up of restricted area or bikers who came long way, it should be the final destination and call it a day.
Cheers.
