Just another typical working day. Finally get off work and boy was it tiring. To make matters worst it was a gloomy Monday. As if Mondays wasnt bad enough already. So to treat myself for a well deserving day earned I decided to differ from my typical diet of exquisite french fastfood or top of the line american burger cuisine and got off at kowloon tong festival walk for some humble take-out. I initially wanted to order some korean food from food court but to my amazement its under renovation. S
Turning around to my amazement was a new pop-up dessert shop by the name of "twelve cupcakes". Although I dont have much of a sweet tooth, i cant help but be attracted to the large glowing display of their cupcake choices. I took a quick snap of the display that initially caught my attention and started deciding what i should have for dessert. The choices were quite standard with some fruit blends for some unique combinations. Unfortunateky by the time i ordered it was already past 8 so only a few choices were left. After a quick glance at all sorts of chocolate mousse caramel fudge etc etc cupcakes, i settled with red velvet and strawberry vanilla. Typical, plain, and unsurprising i know but thats how i like my desserts... my original choice was rose and lemon lol.
Got it home and quickly opened. Took some amazing snaps before chowing down. Funny enough theres a random ball spinning around when I opened it. So finally tasting time... Flavours ok, quite light not too heavy or sweet. Dunno why the red heart on top was a little spicy tho. I tried the strawberry vanilla myself cuz I requested for something sourish and the saleslady recommended the strawberry choices amongst the cakes remaining. Anyhow chowed down the strawberry vanilla. First thought... very little, the aftertaste of the vanilla was quite delightful but a stronger strawberry tinge would have tickled my tastebuds more. Apparently the strawberry flavour is just flavouring and does not taste real at all.

Overall I would probably say the price is decent at 25 bucks a cake and they also have mini cakes for 144 dollars a box. The packaging and humble price makes the box set quite an easy choice to put a smile on your girl. A pretty sweet deal is that they r doing a 25pc discount for dozen cupcakes and even for 3 cupcakes or more can have 10pc off if standard charter or manhattan creditcard is used. Not the best choice if other brand name shops r available but for its price and location (geographical advantage being that price range and specializing in cup cakes in klt) makes it worth a try. Particularly for the mini cake box set and classic cup cakes. Will probably try the fruit blends with heavy caution though.
