Caliburger is a company that tries to re-create the US burger in places it's unlikely to be found, like the middle east and southeast asia. Apparently, their early locations in Shanghai were more or less complete copies of In-N-Out Burger, down to the names of the menu items (but not the inane proselytizing). But In-N-Out sued and now we have the same clones, but with different names.I got the Double Caliburger Combo. I had to ask the cashier what the difference between a double burger and a dou
I liked the bun, it was nicely toasted, and did not fall apart. The veggies were good for the most part, but I thought there was too much onion. The cheese was American, but mostly inoffensive. I wish they put one slice next to each patty instead of both slices with one patty. The patties were nicely grilled and firm, pretty thin, very American. I thought they were decently good. The burger as a whole was greasy; as soon as I freed the burger from it's wrap, grease and burger juices just went everywhere.
I still give it a B ("good"). I would go back. Biggest regrets: no mustard and no pickled jalapenos.
As I said, I would go back. It's not better than a real burger at a restaurant that knows how to do real burgers. And I probably prefer a place with a better toppings selection like GBU. But compared to HK fast food burgers in general, I think Caliburger is competitive with and better than many (it's better than Shake'em'buns and Triple O's, imo).
I do think the restaurant needs to fix its automatic door. I started off sitting by the door, but it opens and closes on its own frequently and for no reason, which is problematic on a cold and blustery day like today.
题外话/补充资料:
$97 for the double Caliburger combo, with fries and a drink.
