I think the first time I noticed The Bambino, I was taking the tram home, looked out the window and noticed the previous coffee shop had changed to a bright red color. That is when I noticed ... it was not just a renovation but a whole new name! It's now called The Bambino!The space is still small. The space is still small. There aren't a lot of seats but it was quiet enough as it's located in a less busy part of Causeway Bay.
Menu is in English only. There is no 10% service charge. Along with coffee, they also have other beverages along with pastries that have on display in the front. You order and pay with the barista who will bring the food to you when ready.
They offer sets so I decided on the cookie set which includes a cookie and black coffee or tea for $45. I wanted a latte for an upgrade of $10.
They offer you a choice of beans. I wanted nutty. The latte art was lovely. The coffee smelled aromatic. A decent temperature and milk to espresso ratio. Foam wasn't too heavy as well. There was a slight nuttiness. A decent brew.
They only had chocolate chip left. It was reheated for me so it smelled fantastic as it arrived. The cookie was crisp and gooey. Sweet enough to compliment the coffee.
Lots of melty chocolate chip throughout.
It was alright. A nice quiet place on a weekend. The barista was friendly and even said cheers which is definitely not too common in Hong Kong. Might be back.
