I decided to find Feed Your Nerves as the name was interesting and it was in Prince Edward, a part of town I really don't associate with cool coffee shops. But this place was pretty cool. It was interesting as surround the area were many automobile repair shops and cha chan tengs.

Layout was a basic bar table on one end with various tables on the side. Spacious? No. Comfortable? Not really.

But on the second floor is a whole other story. Here you have to take off your shoes and you can have your coffee up here in a more casual sitting on the floor atmosphere. The upstairs area also has some little crafts made by local artists or indie designers that are available for sale. So, it's like a part coffee shop, part store.

Ordering is by doing so at the bar and you pay there as well. It's cash only. The drinks menu is in English and Chinese and is found in a clipboard style. However, they have a daily food menu that is found on a blackboard near the cashier. That is in Chinese only. You then get a number to place on your table and they will bring the food to you when prepared.

Ice Apple Tea ($35). My stomache wasn't feeling too well, so I didn't order coffee like I normally would of. Instead I ordered a tea. The tea was pretty good. Not too sweet but sweet enough to not be bland. There was a slight apple taste and fresh slices of apples were place on top. Seriously, the apples were freshly sliced as I saw the guy slicing them when I ordered.

Ramune ($15). Boyfriend ordered this. I think it was just a flashback thing as he hadn't had one in a long while.

Avocado and Egg Salad Bread ($52). I ordered this as my stomach wasn't feeling too good and I wanted a light snack because I also have low blood sugar so I needed something to eat or I'd fear I'd pass out. Anyways ... this was not too bad. The avocado and egg salad was super creamy. It was layered on slices of baguettes that weren't toasted but that was ok as baguettes are chewy and hold up well with creamy toppings. It came with a side of just rocket lettuce with very minimal salad dressing so all I got was the bitter taste of the lettuce which I am not particularly fond of.

Braised Beef with Baby Sweet Corn with Rice ($85). This was what boyfriend ordered and I had a bit to try. I liked this a lot. The rice was Japanese pearl rice. The beef was tender and sweet from the sauce they used. It was a pretty good bowl of rice. Portion size wasn't too big though considering this is Prince Edward where you could get probably the same thing but in a styrofoam box for half the price. This was probably why we saw so many old people walking by, look inside and scoff away.

I liked this place. It was cozy enough with decent food. I would return again to try out a coffee and a definite place to rest my tired feet if I was in the area. They also have free wifi so this is also good if you need it.
